Parking Citation Appeal
Process:
Parking citations are a civil, not criminal process, and therefore, the criminal courts
are not involved. The City of Walnut Creek contracts with Enforcement Technologies Incorporated (ETEC) of San
Ramon to handle its parking citation administrative processes. If you feel you
received a citation that was unfair, unjust, or issued in error, you may appeal it.
Here's how:
1. Obtain a parking citation appeals request form. You may stop by the
police station to get the form, you can call us on (925) 943-5844, and we will fax one to
you, you can download an appeals form in MS Word
format, or you can simply view and print an acceptable
image of the form in your browser.
2. Complete the form, sign it, and return it with a copy of your citation,
and copies of all applicable permits, placards, or other documentation relevant
to your appeal. Send the package to:
City of Walnut Creek
Parking Enforcement Center
P.O. Box 5010
San Ramon, CA., 94583
3. The request must be received within 21 days of citation issue.
4. You will be notified of the results by mail. If your appeal is not
granted, you will be informed as to your right and the procedure to have a hearing in
front of the Parking Appeals Hearing Officer.
You can also pay your tickets online. By an
arrangement between ETEC and EZ-Pay, there is now a secure
payment website where you can pay tickets online. A convenience fee is
charged by the company accepting payment.
