How to Contact Us
There are a number of different ways you can reach the various divisions and
people within the Walnut Creek Police Department.
Phone Numbers
We've listed a few number below, and others are
contained within the specific areas of interest on the site. Remember, if you call and leave a message for an
officer, because
of the various shifts we work it can be up to 4 days before the officer returns
and has a chance to pick up their voice and email messages and get back to you. If there is
something going on with your case or report, and you have a question, or think
something needs to be done before the assigned officer returns, you can always
ask to speak to a supervisor.
VOIP users
If you are using Voice Over Internet Protocol, 9-1-1
may not work from your phone. It is both your and your service provider's
responsibility to make sure the necessary arrangements exist within the individual
VOIP network
to ensure that a 9-1-1 call gets to the right place. Of course, you can
always use the (925) 935-6400 number until you are confident that you have
9-1-1 capabilities.
9-1-1, or not?
The 9-1-1 system is designed for emergency
communication only. That means, a crime in progress or just occurred, a fire, a medical
emergency, and the like. Calls to report
matters that are not emergencies or that happened some time earlier, or most
anything else where there is no immediate threat or criminal activity going on at the
time, should go to the (925) 935-6400 number.
